I keep getting "ghost reminders" that I deleted
This is a bug we are trying to fix. If you get this problem, PLEASE email us!
There is a work around. Open RxmindMe, tap "More" - tap "Reschedule All Reminders" when the next screen appears tap the "Reschedule All Reminders" button. This will flush the cache of reminders for you.
I got an alert telling me that it is a bug and to reboot my phone?
Annoying, we know.
This is a bug with iOS 4, we have put in several bug requests with Apple to fix the problem. People want to blame us (rightfully so), but it simply is not our fault.
It is simple to fix, just reboot your iPhone.
A technical explanation: When RxmindMe creates a reminder for you, it schedules a bunch of "Local Notifications" for you. It does so about 10 days into the future. iOS4 will cache these reminders in its memory. If you delete RxmindMe, reinstall it, or if the earth moves around the sun too fast - the cached reminders don't always get purged from the device. So, you will see "This is a bug please restart your phone."
We ask you to restart your phone by using Localization (Writing apps that have custom text for different languages). We match a piece of text to a key and set the alert key to that text. So in this instance, the "This is a bug please restart your phone" you see maps to "You have prescriptions to take!" - so when the App is working normal, you see "You have prescriptions to take." When the bug rears its ugly head, you see "This is a bug please restart your phone."
Please
contact support if you have any questions!
Why does RxmindMe tell me to reopen it or I won't get anymore reminders?
RxmindMe relies on the iPhone OS (iOS) ability to schedule Local Notifications. We are given 64 slots we can fill for your reminders. We hold 9 for future uses and use a total of 55 for your reminders.
When we schedule your reminders, we will schedule the next 55 or the next 10 days, which ever has more. So, if you only have 1 reminder a day, you'd only have 10 scheduled. If you had 10 a day, you'd only have 5 days of reminders scheduled.
With that, we then tack on an alert "You need to open RxmindMe so we can reschedule your reminders" - so if you go over all of those reminders that have been scheduled and don't open RxmindMe we can then reprompt you to open the App and perform our scheduling.
This is our way of working within the limitations of iOS!
Why does 'Scheduling Reminders...' take so long?
With iOS 4, we are only allowed to schedule 64 notifications at once. When you add or update a reminder, it needs to first generate them within our database then save them to the operating system. When they are scheduled with the operating system, we may need to remove a few, add a few, and move a few around. It just takes time. Please be patient, we work with what we are given!
Why does RxmindMe only ever show "1" over the icon?
Due to the time it takes to schedule reminders in iOS 4, we decided to indicate that you have prescriptions to take with the "1" indicator only. "1" indicates you have prescriptions to take, no indicator indicates you do not.
I have a suggestion!
We'd love to hear what you have to say. Many of RxmindMe's features come from user suggestions. Please use our

I think found a bug
I get a reminder for RxmindMe, I click 'View' but the red screen sticks
This is a bug with iOS 4. The only fix at this point is to reboot your iPhone.
How do I create a reminder that repeats every other day?
We have no built in functionality for this since this is a pretty specific request - but it is easy to do with two reminders.
You will want to create two separate Weekly Reminders. Create your first one, set the "Occurs" to either "Monday/Wednesday/Friday" or "Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday" and set the "Starts" to this week.
Next, create another Weekly Reminder and set the "Occurs" to the opposite of the one you just created. Then, set the "Starts" to a week in the future.
Now you will receive reminders every other day!
Will you make a version of RxmindMe for the iPad?
With iOS 4.2, RxmindMe will run on the iPad without an issue - it will just appear as a scaled iPhone App.
Being said, we have no interest at this time to write a version of RxmindMe that is a Universal App that utilizes all the screen real estate for the iPad. We are looking into the possiblity, but want to get our Android and Windows Mobile 7 versions of RxmindMe out.
How do I set the dosage for a reminder?
First, you will need to add at least one prescription to your reminder. After you have done that, you can click the blue button for the prescription. This will take you to the next screen where you can then choose the dosage
Now you can select the dosage you want, press the "Dosage" cell and it will take you to a chooser (The next image) that will allow you to pick a specific amount. You can also enter any value you want by pressing "Customize."
This selector allows you to choose your dosage you want. Simply scroll the values till you get what you need. After you have done that, hit "Save" and it will allow you to go back to the reminder!
How do I save the RxmindMe database?
Connect your device to your machine and open up iTunes. Select the device in iTunes, as previewed on the right.
Select the "Apps" tab after you select your device in iTunes, as previewed on the right.
When the "Apps" tab is displayed, scroll to the bottom to see the "File Sharing" window. Select "RxmindMe" in the "Apps" - on the right the file list will display. Select the "rxmindme.db" and press "Save to...".
Save the database somewhere that you can remember.
You can also restore the database by following these same steps and instead of saving, drag the files into the window.
Why aren't my prescription quantities updating as I mark reminders as taken?
In order for your prescription quantities to update - you need to have three things setup
1) You need to ensure that you have set a quantity in your prescription
2) You need to ensure that in your reminder you have added that prescription to the reminder
3) You need to ensure you have set a "Dosage" for that prescription in the reminder. When editing your reminder, you will see a "Set Dosage" button next to the prescription. Tap that and select a value.
No prescriptions added to your reminder:
Prescription added but lacking a dosage, tap the "Set Dosage":
Once you have set a dosage and you have set a quantity on your Prescription, the dosages will automatically update for you.
